The Weissport Improvement Alliance is a
grassroots community based group dedicated to improving the quality of life for residents, businesses and property owners
in the immediate Weissport area. As such, it is also interested in the preservation
of historical assets in the surrounding area. While the group is based in this
small Carbon
County town, its goal is to be a local resource for those interested in social,
historic, environmental and regional issues. Members of the group are from Jim
Thorpe, Weissport, and Franklin Township. WIA meets the second Friday of every month.
